Two British women, aged 26 and 27, are currently in intensive care units in Ibiza following a hit-and-run incident. Both women sustained severe injuries, including traumatic brain injuries and broken bones. Their conditions are described as "serious." One is being treated at the private Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic, while the other is at Ibiza’s main Can Misses state hospital.
The accident occurred shortly before 2:00 AM local time on August 26th, on the road connecting Ibiza Town to San Antonio, in an area known as Can Guillemo. The driver of the Toyota Corolla involved, a 24-year-old, reportedly stopped at the scene and passed a drink-drive test. It is not yet known if he was also tested for drugs.
Initially, reports indicated the victims were a man and a woman, but police later confirmed both were female. The private clinic where the younger woman was admitted reported she is in the Intensive Care Unit with head trauma, chest trauma, rib fractures, broken right tibia and fibula bones, a fracture of the left fibula, and multiple contusions.
This incident follows a similar event earlier in August, where a male British holidaymaker was critically injured after being run over in San Antonio. The 31-year-old was admitted to an intensive care unit with a traumatic brain injury and injuries to his chest and shoulder. That incident occurred in the early hours of August 11th.
A spokesperson for the Civil Guard confirmed the latest incident, stating that both women are British and in serious condition. They were pedestrians struck by a 24-year-old Spanish driver. The accident took place at 1:50 AM on the El-600 road between Ibiza and San Antonio.

We must have faith in the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.

This island is starting to seem unsafe. I wouldn't want to walk or cycle on those roads.

This is infuriating. Another driver, another hit-and-run, and two more lives potentially ruined.

This is a reminder to be careful on the roads, wherever you are.

Why are so many drivers on Ibiza being reckless lately? This is tragic and unacceptable.
