As the summer season nears its end, many are already anticipating the arrival of winter. However, residents of the UK can postpone the need for winter attire, as September is predicted to bring unusually warm weather. Weather maps from WXCHARTS indicate a heatwave is approaching the UK.
A scorching Iberian jet stream is expected to bring temperatures of 25C to southern England and Wales on September 8, initiating a September summer heatwave. The northern regions of the UK will not experience the same level of warmth.
The warmest weather will be concentrated in the southwest, southeast, and all of Wales, with temperatures likely ranging from 22C to 25C. The West Midlands is also expected to see temperatures in the low 20s. Northern England and Scotland will experience cooler conditions, with temperatures only reaching 14C, and the northernmost part of Scotland may even see temperatures as low as 8C. By September 10, areas like Kent, London, and Surrey will enjoy temperatures of 25C. Hampshire, Dorset, and Sussex will also experience warm weather, with forecasts predicting 24C.
Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex will also benefit from the warm weather, with temperatures likely reaching 23C. Key cities in the southwest, including Bristol and Bath, will see temperatures between 22C and 24C. Parts of Yorkshire and the Humber, along with much of the northwest, will reach 20C.
The Met Office's weather outlook suggests that changeable weather conditions, including showers or periods of rain, are expected at the beginning of the period due to low-pressure patterns. The forecast also indicates that conditions may become more settled and drier later in the period, particularly in the south, with temperatures likely to be near or slightly above average.

Warm weather can lead to increased air pollution – it’s not all sunshine and rainbows!

Hate to be a downer, but global warming is real, and this just feels like another red flag.

What about the less fortunate who can’t afford to stay cool? This heat is just another burden!

Great news! I cherish every moment of sunshine before winter arrives.

This forecast isn’t as great as it sounds. Warmer winters will only worsen the environmental crisis.
