The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has criticized pro-sanctuary politicians, accusing them of promoting a misleading narrative regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, while the agency continues to apprehend criminal illegal immigrants. DHS stated that while sanctuary politicians and activists were focusing on Abrego Garcia, who they described as a gang member, human trafficker, child predator, and wife beater, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) was actively arresting other serious offenders.
On Monday, DHS arrested several illegal immigrants with serious criminal convictions. Among them was Arturo Lopez-Ramirez, a Mexican national convicted of forced sodomy in California. Another, Julio-Cesar Lopez-Rivera, also from Mexico, was convicted of injury to a child in Texas. Darlin Josue Martinez-Espinoza, a Honduran national, was arrested in Texas after being convicted of aggravated sexual assault with a child, indecency with a child, and driving while intoxicated. In New York, Edgar Stiven Rivera-Villanueva, a Honduran illegal alien, was arrested for attempted gang assault. Additionally, Salvador Hernandez-Aguilar, a Mexican illegal immigrant, was arrested in New Jersey for theft of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
DHS emphasized that these arrests represent a fraction of the agency's ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigrant crime. A senior DHS official stated that ICE officers are removing violent offenders from communities across the country, sending a clear message that America is not a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens. The official highlighted the range of crimes committed by those arrested, including sexual assault, sodomy, and vehicle theft.
The agency's actions come amidst controversy surrounding the arrest of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national. Federal Judge Paula Xinis, an Obama appointee, temporarily blocked the administration from deporting Abrego Garcia. DHS has presented evidence suggesting Abrego Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang and has a history of domestic abuse, labeling him a public safety threat. However, Chris Newman, Abrego Garcia’s attorney, has denied these claims. DHS has criticized sanctuary politicians for supporting Abrego Garcia, whom they describe as a dangerous individual, over the safety of American citizens. The agency stated that the administration will not allow Abrego Garcia to continue terrorizing American citizens.

These sanctuary politicians are prioritizing criminals over the safety of law-abiding citizens. It's outrageous.

Sanctuary cities are in place for a reason. They offer protection and promote trust between communities and law enforcement. Demonizing them is counterproductive.

We can't have criminals in our communities, especially not child predators. These politicians need to stop protecting trash.

Law enforcement is not the job of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They are more focused on political targets than criminals.

The judge's decision to block deportation shows there's more to the story than DHS is letting on.

The attorney can deny it all they want, but the evidence speaks for itself. This gang member needs to be removed.

Good! They're keeping dangerous criminals off the streets. That's what we need.
