A tragic bus accident in New York has led to the death of five individuals and left several others injured, including one Chinese national who is currently in surgery. Reports indicate that a tour bus, returning from Niagara Falls to New York City with 54 passengers on board, crashed and overturned on an interstate highway.
According to authorities, the accident occurred around 12:30 PM on the eastbound side of Interstate 90 in Pembroke, approximately 40 kilometers east of Buffalo. It has been reported that the bus driver became distracted, lost control of the vehicle, and overcorrected, resulting in the bus flipping over.
State police have confirmed that the majority of passengers were of Indian, Chinese, and Filipino descent. Investigators have ruled out mechanical failure and have found no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement in the crash. The driver survived the incident and is currently cooperating with law enforcement officials during the investigation into the causes of the accident.
