Domestic Violence Investigation Leads to Arrests in Hebei Province

Authorities in Hebei Province, northern China, have arrested Jin, a 26-year-old man, and his 48-year-old mother, Zhang, in connection with the suspicious death of Jin's 25-year-old wife, Liu. The tragic event took place on a Friday in Cangzhou City’s Mengcun County, raising alarms regarding possible domestic violence.

As the investigation unfolded, police identified Jin as a suspect for his alleged involvement, while his mother faced charges for purportedly assisting in the destruction or fabrication of evidence related to the case. Both individuals are currently under criminal detention as the investigation progresses.

A forensic examination revealed that Liu died from blunt force trauma to the head and confirmed that she was not pregnant at the time of her passing. To pursue claims of domestic abuse, the police are actively engaging with organizations that advocate for women's rights. Notably, a spokesperson from the Mengcun County Women's Federation mentioned that there had been no prior reports of domestic violence involving Liu.

Additionally, representatives from the Mengcun County People's Procuratorate informed media outlets that Jin was employed as a labor-dispatched worker at the local procuratorate, emphasizing that he did not possess civil servant status or hold any police credentials.
