Okinawa Shogaku High School celebrated their victory at Koshien Stadium on August 23rd, after winning the National High School Baseball Championship. The team secured their first title in the tournament.
The winning team defeated Tokyo’s Nihon University Third High School with a score of 3-1. This victory marks Okinawa Shogaku as the second high school from the southernmost prefecture to achieve this prestigious win.
Eimu Ginoza played a pivotal role in Okinawa Shogaku's triumph, showcasing his skills both at bat and behind the plate. In the sixth inning, with the score tied, Ginoza drove in the go-ahead run with a single. He further solidified the team's lead in the eighth inning with a double, contributing to their third run.
As the catcher, Ginoza was responsible for calling the pitches, guiding the two second-year pitchers who successfully limited the opposing team to only six hits and one run. The starting pitcher, Yuito Arakaki, pitched into the eighth inning, and Ryosuke Sueyoshi, the ace southpaw, closed the game with the final four outs.
Throughout the tournament, Ginoza proved to be a clutch hitter. He consistently delivered hits, achieving this in five consecutive games from the second round onward. His batting position evolved throughout the tournament, starting at seventh, then moving to fifth, and finally, batting cleanup in the final two games, reflecting the growing confidence of his head coach in his abilities.

Ginoza's good, but there are probably thousands of deserving players overlooked.
