Mingus Reedus, the son of "Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus, was arrested and charged following an alleged assault in a New York City apartment on Saturday. Court records indicate that the 25-year-old model pleaded not guilty to five charges. These charges include third-degree assault, assault recklessly causing injury, criminal obstruction of breathing, second-degree harassment, and aggravated harassment.
New York police responded to a report of an assault in progress in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday. A 33-year-old woman was found with minor injuries to her neck and leg. She was subsequently transported to Bellevue Hospital. Mingus Reedus was taken into custody at the scene.
In a statement released on Sunday, Mingus Reedus' attorney, Priya Chaudhry, asserted her client's innocence, stating that the facts of the case would reveal the truth. She highlighted that the charges brought against her client were misdemeanors or less, which she believed spoke volumes. Chaudhry also noted that the judge released Mingus Reedus on his own recognizance, without bail or supervision.
This is not the first time Mingus Reedus has faced legal trouble. In 2022, he accepted a plea deal after being accused of assaulting a woman at the San Gennaro festival in New York City's Little Italy. The woman claimed he punched her in the face following a verbal dispute. However, Mingus Reedus maintained that the incident was an accident, claiming he was swarmed by the woman and her friends after an accidental bump.

If he was released on his own recognizance, it says a lot about the judge's view on the situation.

Legal troubles don’t define who he is. Let’s give him a chance to prove himself!

Assault is serious, whether it’s a misdemeanor or not. He should really reflect on his actions.

I don't believe every story that's presented in the media. There’s always more to the story.

It’s sad that people are so quick to judge without knowing what really happened.
