The upcoming V-Day parade on September 3 will reveal an array of sophisticated military weapons from China, marking a significant milestone in the modernization of the armed forces. Major General Wu Zeke, a high-ranking member of the Central Military Commission and deputy director of the Parade Leading Group, shared this information at a press conference held in Beijing. He emphasized that all the equipment showcased during the event has been developed and produced domestically and is currently in active service.
Wu stated that the event would provide a grand unveiling of new-generation weaponry, the first of its kind since the National Day parade in 2019. The parade is expected to highlight various advanced hardware, including new models of main battle tanks and fighter jets, in addition to unmanned systems, counter-drone technologies, and tools for cyberspace operations. Other notable features will include modern combat drones, directed-energy weapons, and devices that specialize in electronic warfare.
The major general also mentioned that the People's Liberation Army's capabilities in strategic deterrence would be on full display, with newly designed hypersonic missiles, missile-defense systems, and intercontinental ballistic missiles featured during the parade. According to Wu, these advanced weapons demonstrate high levels of information technology and automation, highlighting the military's commitment to adapting to contemporary scientific and technological developments, as well as evolving warfare strategies.
This military parade, which celebrates the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, will be the 19th of its kind since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, and it marks the second time the country has held a "Victory Day" parade.

This display of military weapons is likely to provoke an arms race rather than encourage stability in the region.

This is an outdated approach to national pride. We should be focusing on innovation for peace, not fear-mongering.

What a waste of resources! Instead of parading weapons, why not invest in education and health for the people?
