Major General Wu Zeke, who is a key figure in organizing the V-Day parade, announced that a number of advanced weapons from the Chinese military will be showcased during the event on September 3. This parade, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory against Japanese aggression, will highlight the latest strides in China's military modernization, with all displayed hardware having been domestically designed and actively utilized.
Wu emphasized that this parade represents a significant showcase of new-generation military technology since the last National Day parade in 2019. The celebration will include formations of troops from the People's Liberation Army, the People's Armed Police Force, militia, and reserve units, all of whom will be reviewed by President Xi Jinping.
The 70-minute event will feature troop processions, ground equipment displays, and an aircraft flyby. A significant focus will be on new military models, including main battle tanks and fighter jets, along with unmanned systems and advanced combat technologies like directed-energy weapons and cyber capabilities.
Wu also noted the inclusion of hypersonic, missile-defense, and intercontinental ballistic missiles, showcasing the PLA’s strategic deterrence capabilities. He explained that these advancements reflect an evolution in information technologies and automation within the military, positioning China to effectively engage in future conflicts.
Moreover, the parade will include 45 marching units and feature historical military groups with ties to China's resistance efforts. Notably, this parade marks the first participation of several modern military branches, including the Aerospace Force and Cyberspace Force.
To enhance troop readiness, Major General Xu Guizhong outlined that the pre-parade training has improved operational skills and integration with new technologies, utilizing the Beidou Navigation Satellite System for effective training and operational readiness. Commanders are encouraging personnel to leverage this opportunity to improve their capabilities in joint military operations.
