Harry and William's Feud Deepens, Reconciliation Unlikely

A royal expert suggests that the strained relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William has deteriorated, despite recent attempts at reconciliation. The Duke of Sussex has been distanced from the Royal Family since his departure in 2020. The rift between Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, and the rest of the royals was further exacerbated by claims made in interviews, a Netflix docuseries, and Prince Harry's memoir, "Spare." Despite reports of aides from both sides meeting in London, hopes for a reconciliation appear to be dim.

Duncan Larcombe, a royal expert, stated that the feud is at its worst point, marked by betrayal and anger. He believes that the longer the brothers remain estranged, the deeper the divide will become. Larcombe noted that Harry and Meghan have established their own lives in California, focusing on financial opportunities, while William and Kate have remained dedicated to their royal duties.

Larcombe also highlighted William's reluctance to forgive his brother, pointing out that William has not publicly mentioned Harry since the death of Queen Elizabeth in 2022. He believes the situation is dire. Harry has stated that the responsibility for mending the relationship lies with William. However, Larcombe suggests that William may expect apologies from Harry. Furthermore, he believes that Meghan's priorities are in America, with her children and business interests, and do not include the UK or Harry's family.
