William and Kate Set to Establish Forever Home at Forest Lodge in Windsor

Prince William and Princess Kate are preparing for a significant change as they plan to relocate from their current residence to an eight-bedroom mansion. Despite their apparent enjoyment of life at Adelaide Cottage with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the family is seeking more space. This has led to the decision to move to Forest Lodge, their next royal home.

Forest Lodge is conveniently located in Windsor, a place the family has grown to cherish. While some might suggest a return to London would be more logical, especially given William's position as heir to the throne, this is not their current plan. Forest Lodge is intended to be their permanent residence. Windsor, a short distance from London, is favored by the couple for various reasons.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, in an exclusive interview, explained that the family's preference for Windsor stems from its suitability for security and the availability of outdoor space, along with enhanced privacy. He noted that the move is sensible, considering Princess Kate's family lives nearby, fostering a close-knit environment. Additionally, their children attend nearby schools, and Eton, a potential option for Prince George, is also in the vicinity. The family appreciates Berkshire and its countryside, while also maintaining a London base and press office at Kensington Palace, along with a country home at Anmer Hall. Forest Lodge, with its eight bedrooms and nearby staff cottages, appears to be an ideal choice.

The move was initially reported last week, with a source indicating that William and Kate desired a "fresh start" following some challenges since moving to Adelaide Cottage, particularly in light of Princess Kate's health issues last year. The source also highlighted that Adelaide Cottage was becoming too small for the family with only four bedrooms. Minor renovations are currently underway at Forest Lodge, with the family's move expected to be completed by the end of the year. The family reportedly intends for this to be their permanent home, even after William ascends to the throne.

Eight bedrooms? Seriously, how many people are they expecting to live there?

Glad they've sought space to recharge after Kate taking a break due to her health.

Proximity to Eton for George makes perfect sense for his education.

They'll still keep the London base and press office; it's not the end of the world.

Makes sense for the kids to be close to their schools; they're humans first!
