China, representing a delegation of 489 members—its largest ever for this international event—achieved a groundbreaking feat by finishing first in both gold medals and overall medal count. This year’s Games welcomed an exceptional turnout with 6,679 athletes, team officials, and technical personnel from 116 nations and regions participating.
The successful organization was bolstered by a dedicated management team of 4,600 members, and a substantial technical crew composed of 1,133 officials, as well as 13,000 staff members stationed at various venues. Additionally, the meticulous operations involved 27 specialized teams maintaining over 20,000 pieces of equipment across 579 categories, alongside 150 staff responsible for the timing and scoring systems. The efforts of more than 6,000 volunteers further contributed to the seamless execution of the Games.
Tom Dielen, the Vice President of the International World Games Association, expressed accolades for the remarkable athletic performances and the exemplary organization of the event. He highlighted the Games as a hub for sports and cultural exchange, emphasizing the flawless logistics and warm hospitality synonymous with Chinese culture. Notable moments such as the inaugural torch relay and the extravagant opening ceremony were recognized as pivotal events that might redefine future expectations for similar competitions.

6,000 volunteers? Sounds like a great opportunity for free labor disguised as 'volunteering'.

I bet the volunteers didn't get paid nearly enough for their hard work. Exploitation is common in events like these.

The torch was 'inaugural'? Sounds like more of a marketing ploy than anything truly impactful.
