Heavy rainfall has resulted in casualties and ongoing search efforts in the Ordos region of Inner Mongolia. Local authorities confirmed that three fatalities have been recorded across several banners and districts. Additionally, three individuals are currently missing.
The intense rainfall began on Monday afternoon and persisted into the early hours of Tuesday. The downpour delivered up to 214 millimeters of precipitation in some areas. The three confirmed deaths occurred after individuals were discovered in floodwaters. The search for the three missing persons is concentrated in Dalate banner.
The Inner Mongolia Meteorological Station issued a warning regarding the weather conditions. The forecast indicates continued rainfall and shifting areas of intense precipitation over the next three days.
From Tuesday to Thursday, moderate to heavy rain is anticipated across a wide area, with the potential for localized heavy downpours. Severe convective weather, including short-term heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail, is also expected.
Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution due to the risk of secondary disasters. These include flash floods, river flooding, and urban waterlogging. Residents are advised to avoid areas susceptible to geological hazards and to refrain from camping overnight in riverbeds and similar locations.

What's the point of issuing warnings if no one listens to them? Authorities need to enforce stricter regulations.

This isn't just bad luck; it's a failure of planning and foresight by local officials.
