The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and Tencent, a prominent Chinese technology company, are set to unveil a United Nations platform at the COP30 climate conference in Brazil. This platform aims to facilitate connections between climate-related requirements and innovative solutions offered by various companies.
The announcement was made by Luis Neves, CEO of GeSI, during an interview. GeSI, based in Brussels, is a business association focused on the role of digital technology in promoting sustainability. The platform, developed for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, will be accessible to all GeSI members, as well as other companies from China, Europe, and around the world.
Currently, GeSI has approximately 50 major corporate members, primarily from Europe and the United States. The organization is actively working to attract more Chinese companies and establish a permanent presence in China, recognizing the country's significant role in the global economy and sustainability initiatives.
Neves highlighted the remarkable advancements in innovation across various sectors, particularly the digital industry, since his first visit to China in 2002. He emphasized the digital sector's rapid evolution, its contribution to sustainability and growth, and its positive impact on areas such as the environment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Neves expressed his admiration for China's progress and believes that other countries can learn from these developments. He anticipates that Chinese companies will contribute practical and scalable innovations to the UN platform, including efficient energy systems, AI solutions, and sector-specific green technologies. He also expects them to collaborate with global partners within GeSI's network.

GeSI is just trying to gather more corporate interests under the guise of sustainability. It’s all about money, not the planet.
