Overnight, Israeli forces continued their bombardment of eastern Gaza City. Witnesses and medical personnel reported that at least eleven people were killed in the attacks.
Meanwhile, Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya traveled to Cairo to participate in discussions aimed at reviving a ceasefire plan supported by the United States.
Indirect negotiations, held in Qatar, concluded in late July without any breakthroughs. Israel and Hamas exchanged accusations regarding the lack of progress on a U.S. proposal. This proposal included a 60-day truce and the release of hostages.
Following the failed talks, Israel announced its intention to initiate a new offensive and take control of Gaza City. The city was previously captured by Israeli forces shortly after the war began in October 2023, but they later withdrew.

Blaming Hamas without acknowledging the suffering of Gaza’s civilians is a skewed perspective. Both sides need to be held accountable.

This ongoing violence only perpetuates the cycle of hatred and suffering. It's time to prioritize peace over military actions.
