The Greater Manchester Police, responding to inquiries, stated that they received a report of a rape on Monday, August 4, 2025. A 24-year-old man was subsequently arrested. The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at a location in Manchester. The man has been released on bail while investigations continue. The victim is receiving support from police officers.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Ali has been provisionally suspended for the duration of the criminal investigation. The PCB respects the legal processes in the United Kingdom and acknowledges the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed.
The PCB has decided to suspend Haider Ali immediately, pending the outcome of the investigation. The PCB reserves the right to take further action under its Code of Conduct once the legal proceedings are concluded and all facts are established.
Haider Ali has played for Pakistan in 35 Twenty20 international matches since his debut in 2020, as well as two one-day international matches.
