In a recent interview, Cain revealed he had already communicated with the agency, which is responsible for implementing President Donald Trump's deportation policies.
The Department of Homeland Security's spokesperson, Tricia McLaughlin, announced that Cain would be sworn in as an "honorary ICE Officer" within the next month. The specific responsibilities of his honorary role were not immediately clarified.
Cain, aged 59, has also stated that he is already a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer. Earlier this week, he shared a video on his social media platforms, encouraging others to consider joining the agency. The Department of Homeland Security recently removed age restrictions for new hires, aiming to increase recruitment following a significant financial investment from Congress.
Over the past decade, Cain has been vocal about his conservative views and has endorsed Trump in three elections. A representative for Cain did not provide a comment when contacted.
