A birthday celebration was held at Locajoy Theme Park in Yongchuan district, Southwest China's Chongqing, on Wednesday morning. The event marked the fourth birthday of the female twin giant pandas, Qing Hua and Qing Lu.
The panda pavilion was decorated with a lavish spread of treats. These included bamboo shoots, watermelons, apples, carrots, pumpkins, and bamboo leaves, all presented on tables crafted from large ice blocks.
Qing Hua and Qing Lu made a grand entrance, adorned with birthday makeup. They sported red "beauty marks" on their foreheads, symbolizing health and good fortune. Spectators were charmed by the twins as they enjoyed their treats and engaged in playful behavior. Many captured these precious moments with their phones and cameras.
Born to the giant panda Pan Qing at the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in Sichuan province in August 2021, Qing Hua and Qing Lu arrived at the park at the end of 2023. They were joined by their companions, Qiao Yue and Ai Lian.
A photo exhibit showcasing the growth of these giant pandas at the park also began on Wednesday. The park has announced that a collective birthday party for all four giant pandas will take place at the panda pavilion on Saturday.
