On August 1st, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun led the regular press conference. A question was raised regarding a recent report from the Cyber Security Association of China. This report detailed instances where the US government allegedly utilized Germany, South Korea, Singapore, and the Netherlands as launch points for cyberattacks targeting China.
The report further indicated that in 2024, state-sponsored advanced persistent threat (APT) groups operating from outside China had launched over 600 cyberattacks. These attacks were aimed at critical information infrastructure and vital information systems within China, with the goal of infiltration and disruption.
In response, Guo Jiakun acknowledged having reviewed the report. He stated that the findings provided further evidence of malicious cyberattacks perpetrated by the US government against China. This, he asserted, reinforces the perception of the US as the primary cyber threat to China and exposes the US's duplicity in cybersecurity matters. China, he added, would continue to take necessary steps to protect its own cybersecurity.
Guo also highlighted the US's use of its allies in Europe and the surrounding region as platforms for these cyber activities. He reiterated China's long-held belief that cybersecurity is a shared global challenge that necessitates dialogue and cooperation among all nations.

China needs to focus on building trust rather than playing the blame game with the US.

This report lacks credibility. China often uses such claims to distract from its own cyber activities.
