The Bulgarian U19 Men's Volleyball team has secured a spot among the top six teams at the World Championship held in Uzbekistan. Following a hard-fought quarterfinal loss to Spain, the team rebounded strongly. They delivered a decisive performance against South Korea in a classification match, winning in straight sets.
The match against South Korea saw Bulgaria demonstrate superior skills and consistency. This victory marked the third time the Bulgarian team had defeated an Asian team during the tournament, having previously overcome Japan and China in the group stage.
The initial set saw Bulgaria take control early, building a significant lead. They maintained this dominance throughout, comfortably closing the set with a score of 25:17.
The second set presented more of a challenge, with South Korea briefly taking the lead. However, Bulgaria rallied, mounting a comeback to secure the set 25:23, extending their lead to two sets to none.
In contrast to previous knockout matches where they had lost a 2:0 lead, the team remained focused in the third set. They built a lead in the middle of the set and maintained control, ultimately winning the set 25:21 and securing the match victory.
This win guarantees Bulgaria a place among the top six teams globally at this age level. They are scheduled to play for fifth place against the winner of the Italy versus Finland match.
