FlyQuest achieved a perfect 2-0 record on Saturday at the LTA North Split 3, securing a victory against their opponent in Los Angeles.
In the second match of the day, LYON defeated Team Liquid, resulting in both teams holding a 1-1 record in the group stage with one round remaining.
The LTA North 2025 Split 3 marks the third Americas North League of Legends split under the LTA organization. Eight teams from the Americas North region are competing for the Americas title. The initial three weeks of the competition utilize a single-match format, with all matches being best-of-three. The matchups for Week 1 were determined by the final standings from Split 2.
Weeks 4 and 5 will feature elimination matches, each played in a best-of-five format. Weeks 6 and 7 will adopt a double-elimination format, also with best-of-five matches. The top three teams will qualify for the LTA Championship, and the winning team will earn a spot in the 2025 World Championship.
In Saturday's opening match, FlyQuest triumphed over 100 Thieves, winning both maps in approximately 30 minutes each. Fahad 'Massu' Abdulmalek and Song 'Quad' Su-hyeong were key players for FlyQuest, each accumulating 12 kills. Alan 'Busio' Cwalina contributed 24 assists across the two maps, including 17 in the decisive match.
The second match of the tournament saw LYON and Liquid engage in a series that was not a sweep. LYON secured the first map in 32 minutes, and Liquid responded with a 29-minute victory. In the final, deciding map, LYON emerged victorious in 31 minutes. The winning team was on the blue side in each game.
Park 'Hena' Jeung-hwan led LYON with a combined 20/5/20 kill-death-assist ratio. Pedro Luis 'Lyonz' Peralta of Argentina provided 38 assists throughout the match, with 31 of those assists coming in the two winning games.
Two more matches are scheduled for Sunday to conclude Week 2. The final week of group play will take place the following weekend. The final prize pool has yet to be announced.
