A female police officer in South Carolina experienced a sudden collapse following an accidental exposure to fentanyl during a search. The incident, captured on bodycam footage, highlights the rapid response of a fellow officer in a critical situation.
The event unfolded during a search of a woman. The female deputy located a clear plastic bag containing an unidentified substance, as well as a folded dollar bill, also containing an unknown substance, concealed within the woman's bra. It is believed that the deputy came into contact with the fentanyl during this search.
Upon witnessing the deputy's collapse, the male officer immediately sprang into action. He swiftly retrieved Narcan, a medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, from the police cruiser. He then administered the Narcan to the affected deputy. Following the administration of the life-saving medication, the officer was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Thankfully, she was later released, having recovered from the exposure.

Why wasn't the officer wearing proper protective gear? This is a basic safety protocol, even for routine searches.

Great to see someone was prepared. This incident speaks to the danger of even being present when drugs are nearby.

Bodycams are supposed to protect the public. Why is this footage being used for public consumption to embarrass this officer?
