In response to reports of the upcoming Han Kuang-41 military exercise by Taiwan's military, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Jiang Bin, stated that the exercise is a deceptive tactic employed by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities. He characterized it as an attempt to manipulate the people of Taiwan into supporting their "Taiwan Independence" agenda.
Jiang warned the DPP that pursuing independence through military means is a futile endeavor. He emphasized that regardless of the exercises' focus or the weaponry used, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) will not be deterred from its countermeasures against "Taiwan Independence," nor will the inevitable reunification of China be stopped.
Regarding Taiwan's leader, Lai Ching-te's, recent speech promoting increased "defense" spending and urging the military to fight for Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, Jiang responded by stating that Taiwan is a province of China, therefore, the concept of a "defense" budget is illogical. He accused Lai of distorting history and fabricating narratives to advance his separatist agenda.
Jiang further asserted that Lai is deliberately exaggerating the so-called "mainland threat" to create fear, manipulate public opinion, and militarize the island. He believes this is an attempt to entangle Taiwan in a strategic game orchestrated by external forces. Jiang stressed that Lai's call to fight is, in reality, a fight for the DPP's self-interests and a deception that leads the people of Taiwan down a path of conflict and destruction.
Jiang reiterated that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China and that Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu are all Chinese territory. He warned that the more Lai and his supporters advocate for independence, the closer they are to their downfall. Jiang concluded by stating that the PLA is fully capable of crushing any separatist attempts and safeguarding China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
