On Tuesday, President Donald Trump discussed his strained relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. He stated that their falling out stemmed from Epstein's actions in relation to staff at Trump's club spa. Specifically, Trump mentioned that Epstein had taken employees, including a woman implicated in the Prince Andrew scandal.
Previously, the White House had indicated that Trump had removed Epstein from his Mar-a-Lago club approximately twenty years prior, citing Epstein's behavior. Media reports also suggested a disagreement over a Florida real estate transaction contributed to their estrangement.
During a flight back from Scotland on Air Force One, Trump offered some of his most detailed public remarks to date concerning his relationship with Epstein. Epstein, a financier with considerable wealth and connections, passed away in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking underage girls.

I can't take Trump seriously when he talks about Epstein; he was friends with him for too long to act like he didn't know.

Claiming a falling out over staff at a club is just a distraction from the real issues surrounding Epstein's actions.

It's hard to believe Trump had any real issue with Epstein when they were so close for years. This sounds like a convenient excuse.

I believe Trump’s account of events. It's clear that he distanced himself when Epstein's behavior became unacceptable.

This is a reminder that not everyone who associates with someone bad is complicit. People can distance themselves from wrongdoing.
