A woman in her sixties was discovered fatally stabbed in Romford. Authorities believe she was acquainted with a man who died on nearby railway tracks just hours before the discovery.
The Metropolitan Police responded to a welfare concern in east London on Sunday evening. Officers arrived at a residence on Bushy Close around 9 pm. Inside, they found the woman, who had sustained multiple stab wounds. She was declared dead at the scene.
The police are collaborating with the British Transport Police (BTP) due to information linking the woman's death to the earlier death of a 20-year-old man on the train tracks at Romford railway station. Initial investigations suggest the man and woman knew each other. The BTP is not treating the man's death as suspicious.
The woman's family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, from the Met’s specialist crime command, expressed condolences to the victim's family and stated that the incident is believed to be isolated, posing no wider risk to the public. Detective Superintendent Simon Giles, from the East area investigations team, acknowledged the distress caused to the community and assured that the investigation is progressing swiftly. Officers are present in the area, and anyone with information is encouraged to speak with them.

I bet this will be buried quickly. No one cares about a woman in her 60s, it seems.

The swift investigation is just them covering their tracks, methinks.
