On Sunday, the Chinese Embassy in Spain reacted strongly against US interference with Huawei's business activities, describing such actions as egregious bullying. This response followed claims made by the US House Intelligence Committee, which alleged that the acquisition of Huawei products by Spanish officials could endanger Spain's security and that of its allies. The embassy criticized the United States for conducting a worldwide campaign against particular Chinese enterprises, asserting that these allegations are part of a broader anti-China political strategy.
The embassy pointed out that the US has failed to provide any substantial proof to back its accusations, firmly opposing this stance and vowing to protect the legitimate rights of Chinese firms. A report from the Spanish media outlet The Objective highlighted that Huawei recently secured a contract worth 12.3 million euros from the Ministry of the Interior in Spain, contradicting the US claims regarding security risks.
A spokesperson from the Spanish Home Ministry stated that the contract adhered to national security standards, asserting, "There is no security risk." The Chinese Embassy maintained that Chinese companies are mandated to conduct foreign economic activities in accordance with legal frameworks. They stressed that all Huawei products comply with Spanish laws and regulations, emphasizing that user data remains under the user's control and is not accessible externally.
The embassy called for the US to show respect for scientific understanding and common sense, urging an end to unfounded allegations. Furthermore, they expressed confidence that Spain, as a nation governed by the rule of law, would provide a fair and equitable environment for Chinese companies to operate in a transparent manner. The Chinese government envisions economic cooperation between China and Spain to thrive on principles of equality, mutual respect, and benefit, free from external pressures.

China's call for respect and fair treatment is justified. No proof means no grounds for accusations!

Chinese companies contribute to the global economy. It’s not fair for the US to undermine them without proof.

China should focus on its anti-competitive practices instead of whining about US actions.

The US has legitimate concerns regarding Huawei's influence. This isn't bullying; it's caution.

If Huawei is innocent, why not just provide transparency and proof instead of attacking the accusers?

Countries should collaborate on technology rather than having the US dictate who can do business where.
