The "Folk Dunk King" Soars to International Glory, Inspiring a New Generation

Chen Dengxing made history at the Quai 54 World Streetball Championship, becoming the first athlete from mainland China to win the dunk contest. He also became the first Asian athlete to achieve a perfect score in the competition. Chen hopes his victory inspires young people to pursue their dreams. Known as the "folk dunk king," he gained fame for his impressive dunks.

He also won the CBA All-Star Game dunk contest. Chen participates in the Zhejiang Provincial City Basketball League, where he and his teammates perform dunks. Chen trained in high jump and long jump as a youth, but later worked as a bank clerk. He began dunking during breaks, and a contest in 2011 changed his path.

He credits Cha Tianyi for encouraging his career. Chen studies top dunkers to improve his skills, training daily. He advises young enthusiasts to warm up properly.
