Lottie Woad has launched her professional golfing career with a dominant performance, securing a three-stroke victory at the Women's Scottish Open. This win marks a significant milestone as her professional debut. She earned her LPGA Tour card after a strong finish at the Evian Championship, where she placed third.
Prior to turning professional, Woad had already demonstrated her talent by winning the 2025 Women's Irish Open. However, due to her amateur status, she was unable to claim the prize money from either event, which totaled a substantial amount.
The Women's Scottish Open victory not only marks a successful start to her professional career but also comes with a substantial prize. This win will undoubtedly place her in the spotlight as she prepares for the year's final major, the Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl.
Woad entered the final day at Dundonald Links with a two-shot lead, having consistently led the field after both the 36-hole and 54-hole marks. Her final round included early birdies, followed by a series of pars. Despite a late bogey, she finished strong with a birdie on the 18th hole, securing the win with a score of 21 under par.
This victory makes Woad the first player to win on their professional debut on the Ladies European Tour (LET) since Shannon Tan in 2024 and the first on the LPGA Tour since Rose Zhang in 2023. She is also the first English winner of the Women's Scottish Open since 2014.
Hyo Joo Kim of Korea finished in second place, while Julia Lopez Ramirez of Spain tied for third. Nelly Korda, the world number one, finished in fifth place. Several other players secured spots in the upcoming Women's Open, including Paula Reto, Cassie Porter, Minjee Lee, Karis Davidson, and Mary Liu. Gemma Dryburgh was the leading Scot and received the Jock MacVicar trophy. The next event on the LET schedule is the Women's Open.
