In a separate development, Spanish television reported on Saturday that numerous individuals, including children, swam from Morocco to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The swimmers faced rough seas and fog during their journey.

Video footage showed rescue attempts by the Civil Guard. The children, primarily from Morocco, were taken to temporary centers in Ceuta. Local authorities requested assistance from the central government to manage the influx of arrivals.

This incident follows similar events in the past. In August of the previous year, migrants took advantage of dense fog to reach Ceuta. The enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, located on Morocco's Mediterranean coast, represent the only land borders between the European Union and Africa.

Moroccan nationals apprehended during these crossings are typically returned to Morocco, unless they are minors or seeking asylum. Individuals of other nationalities are housed in special centers and released after a few days.

Past attempts to cross these borders have resulted in tragic events. Three years ago, a stampede during a mass border crossing into Melilla led to multiple fatalities.

Another article offering a 'both sides' approach, which ultimately waters down the reality of the situation. What about the EU's responsibility?

This 'reporting from all perspectives' feels like a cop-out. Where's the emotional impact? This is about people, not statistics.

Where is the information from the point of view of the migrants? It barely touches on them, it is just about the rescue efforts.

Thank you for the facts. It's important to have a clear picture of what happened.

They focus on the rescue efforts, but don't highlight the systemic cruelty of the border policies.
