Trey Parker, known for co-creating South Park, had a brief and humorous reaction to the White House's backlash concerning the premiere of the show's 27th season. During a panel at San Diego's Comic-Con International, Parker, alongside his partner Matt Stone and other notable figures, addressed the uproar initiated by the episode, which features a naked Donald Trump depicted as a living photograph.
The controversial episode showcased Trump in a hyper-realistic deepfake scenario, walking nude in a desert, while poking fun at the size of his genitalia. In response to the uproar, a spokesperson from the White House called South Park irrelevant, stating that the series was desperate for attention. The spokesperson also noted that President Trump had accomplished more in six months than any previous president, dismissing the show's impact on his administration.
Furthermore, during the Comic-Con panel, Parker revealed that their producers suggested blurring the nude depiction, but he insisted that they wouldn't do so. Eventually, they settled on a creative compromise by adding eyes to the animated penis, turning it into a character and skipping the blurring. The episode satirized Paramount's recent settlement with Trump as well, illustrating the show's unique ability to comment on current events quickly. Parker noted the fast-paced production process of South Park, which allows them to remain timely with their content, even expressing uncertainty about the reception of the episode just days prior to its release.

They’re holding politicians accountable, and that’s exactly what we need in today’s world.

The fact that the White House reacted shows how South Park is still relevant and impactful. Keep up the great work!

A living photograph Trump? Comedy genius! They’re nailing the parody.

Brilliant! South Park is the only show brave enough to take on the absurdity of the situation. Comedy gold!

I used to enjoy the show, but this is a blatant sign of the show declining. No thanks!
