Chinese tennis player Zheng Qinwen announced on social media that she has successfully undergone surgery on her right elbow and is now in the recovery phase. She explained that she had been experiencing persistent pain in her right elbow during training and competitions. Despite attempts to manage the pain, it continued to affect her performance.
After consulting with elbow specialists, Zheng and her team were advised to undergo minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery to address the issue comprehensively. Following careful consideration, they decided that surgery was the best path to ensure her return to the court in optimal condition. The surgery was completed smoothly, and she is now focused on her recovery.
Zheng shared that she will dedicate the coming period to rehabilitation training, with the goal of returning to the court at full strength as quickly as possible. She views this period of adjustment as a step towards a stronger comeback. She expressed her gratitude for the support and patience of her fans, promising to return to the court at her best.
Zheng's recent tournament appearances included a first-round exit at Wimbledon. She also withdrew from the WTA 500 event in Washington. Earlier in the season, she achieved a career-high ranking of No. 4 in the WTA singles rankings.

More training and perseverance would've helped instead of resorting to surgery.
