The 2025 World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Asian Dancesport Festival concluded in a dazzling display at the Taihu International Expo Center in Wuxi on July 20th. The event attracted almost 4,000 dancers, representing 45 different countries and regions, transforming it into a vibrant showcase of dance and cultural exchange.
The final day's highlight was the WDSF GrandSlam Standard Adult 2025 competition. Six of the world's top dance pairs competed, delivering captivating performances in a highly competitive contest for the championship. Ultimately, Rares Cojoc and Andreea Matei from Romania emerged victorious, showcasing exceptional skill, commanding stage presence, and a distinctive artistic interpretation. This victory marked the first GrandSlam title for a Romanian couple.
Chinese dancers also made a significant impact. The local favorite, Du Yujun from Wuxi, and her partner Yan Bangbang, achieved a commendable third-place finish in the WDSF GrandSlam Latin Adult competition. This result followed six rounds and nine hours of intense competition on July 19th. They placed behind the Spanish pair of Guillem Pascual and Llles Diandra-Aniela, who secured second place, and the French champions, Charles-Guillaume Schmitt and Elena Salikhova.

Third place for the local favorites? That's a shame.

I wonder if they paid the dancers a decent amount? Or is it all just for the glory?
