A Chinese defense spokesman addressed the recent interactions between Chinese and Japanese military aircraft in the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone on Sunday morning. The spokesman characterized the Chinese response as entirely reasonable and professional.
In a statement, the Defense Ministry spokesman, Jiang Bin, detailed the situation. He explained that Japanese Air Self-Defense Force reconnaissance planes had repeatedly entered China's ADIZ in the East China Sea for close-range reconnaissance activities.
Jiang stated that Chinese aircraft responded by adhering to legal protocols. Their actions involved verifying, identifying, following, and monitoring the Japanese aircraft. He underscored that these measures were "fully justified, reasonable, professional and standardized."
Furthermore, Jiang pointed out that the Japanese aircraft's close-in reconnaissance and interference were the primary factors contributing to safety risks in the air and sea between China and Japan.
The spokesman concluded by expressing the hope that Japan would collaborate with China to foster a suitable environment for the stable advancement of their bilateral relations.

The wording is very carefully crafted. Sounds like they are setting the stage for blaming Japan if something happens.

This is a thinly veiled warning. They're telling Japan to back off, basically.

Good that they're making their response transparent. Hopefully reducing a chance of escalation.

China wants cooperation. It's not easy to maintain good relations in such a volatile environment.

Just because they call it 'professional' doesn't make it so. Actions speak louder than words.
