At the weigh-in held at Wembley's BoxPark, Oleksandr Usyk of Ukraine engaged in some psychological tactics with Britain's Daniel Dubois before their highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight world title fight on Saturday. Usyk weighed in at 16st 3lb, while Dubois came in at 17st 6lb.
Following a tense face-off, Usyk positioned himself at the front of the stage, obstructing the view of his 27-year-old opponent. He then flexed his muscles, acknowledging the cheers from the crowd.
Dubois, the IBF champion, was vying to become the first British undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999. He eventually stepped forward and expressed his determination, stating he was "locked in, focused and I can't wait. I'm going to win by any means necessary." However, Usyk interrupted Dubois's speech by returning to the front of the stage with his arms raised, leading the frustrated Briton to walk away shaking his head.
Usyk, who holds the WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO belts, then addressed the crowd, stating, "It's a great opportunity for my people and my country. See you tomorrow." The 38-year-old Ukrainian previously defeated Dubois in August 2023, securing a ninth-round victory. Dubois has a professional record of 22 wins in 24 fights.

Usyk knows this is more than a fight, it's a show, and he's rocking the stage.

I'm getting tired of the "flex and pose" routine.

This pre-fight stuff feels a bit childish, honestly.
