Train services on the Bukit Panjang Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in Singapore have been restored after a power fault disrupted operations. The operator, SMRT, announced the resumption of normal services on Saturday, July 19th.
The power fault, which occurred around 2:45 pm, resulted in the unavailability of train services across all stations. The incident caused four trains to stall between stations. SMRT staff assisted passengers in safely exiting the stalled trains and reaching the nearest stations.
Throughout the disruption, SMRT provided updates to commuters via in-train and station announcements. Engineers were deployed to the site to investigate and resolve the issue. Free regular and bridging bus services, which were provided to assist affected commuters, have since been discontinued.

Hopefully, the engineers found the root cause and will prevent this from happening again.

Free bus services is good. That must have helped a lot of people get where they needed.
