A paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked a village in North Kordofan State, western Sudan, resulting in the deaths of at least 46 civilians and injuries to 37 others, according to reports from volunteer groups on Monday. The attack occurred on Sunday in Hillat Hamid village.
The Sudanese Doctors Network, a volunteer organization, reported that the victims were buried in mass graves by local residents. The group strongly condemned the attack, labeling it a "heinous massacre" and highlighting it as part of a pattern of serious violations committed by the RSF against civilians throughout Sudan.
The network called for an immediate end to such attacks by the RSF and urged the international community to take swift action to protect civilians. They specifically requested the imposition of sanctions on RSF leaders.
The Emergency Lawyers Group, another volunteer organization, confirmed the reported number of casualties. They described the attack as a violent assault on the village, involving gunfire, the burning of homes and farms, and the looting of property. This pattern, they stated, was intended to terrorize and displace the population. The group condemned the attacks as "systematic massacres" and held the RSF leadership fully responsible, asserting that these actions constitute genocide and crimes against humanity under international law.
The recent escalation of armed clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the RSF in North Kordofan is reportedly linked to the RSF's efforts to gain control of El-Obeid, the state capital.
The ongoing conflict between the SAF and the RSF, which began in April 2023, continues to devastate Sudan. The fighting has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions, exacerbating the country's humanitarian crisis.

I will only believe what I see with my own eyes not what is reported.

It's the SAF who are burning the homes and looting, trying to smear the RSF's record. " (Blaming the other side)

The RSF's actions are reprehensible. They must be held accountable for this massacre.

These are tragic events, but all sides are affected by the ongoing conflict. " (Neutralizing the blame)

Burning homes, looting property... How can anyone justify such inhumanity?
