On July 17, Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, celebrated the accomplishments of medal winners from the U15, U17, U20, and U23 Asian Wrestling Championship 2025 during a recent meeting. The Indian Under-15 Freestyle Wrestling Team excelled in the competition, amassing a total of 203 points to secure the Team Champions title, outpacing Japan, which finished with 166 points. The Indian delegation proudly brought home eight medals, comprising six golds, one silver, and one bronze, showcasing their dominance in last month's event.
Mansukh Mandaviya shared his admiration on social media, expressing his pride in the athletes' hard work and wishing them continued success in their sporting endeavors. Following a standout performance by the Indian Women's Wrestling Team, which clinched the Champion Trophy, the Men's Freestyle Wrestling Team matched this success by winning six golds and one silver at the U-23 Senior Asian Wrestling Championship 2025 held in Vung Tau, Vietnam. This achievement marks India's most impressive outcome in the Freestyle category at any Asian Wrestling Championship to date.
In the U17 category, the Indian freestyle wrestling team achieved three gold medals and two bronze medals at the championships in Vung Tau. While they narrowly missed securing an overall top three ranking and did not win a team trophy, the individual performances, especially in the heavier weight categories, were commendable and received accolades for their excellence.

While achievements are admirable, what about the working conditions of coaches and support staff? They also deserve recognition.
