Enea Bastianini is set to race for KTM Tech3 at the upcoming Czech Grand Prix, signaling his return to competition following a bout of illness. The 27-year-old Italian, who transitioned to Tech3 from Ducati last year, was absent from the German Grand Prix but is expected to participate in practice sessions on Friday ahead of the race scheduled for Sunday in Brno.
In a statement, Bastianini described the challenge of being sidelined and not being able to compete at the German Grand Prix, emphasizing the importance of taking the necessary time to recuperate properly. Meanwhile, Pol Espargaro will take the place of Maverick Vinales, who underwent surgery for a fractured left shoulder. Espargaro expressed his excitement about returning to the Brno circuit, reminiscing about his positive experiences there in the past with KTM and eagerly anticipating how he will perform on the updated track surface.

Bastianini's 'statement' is just PR talking crap. Just get on the bike and race!

Illness? Hope it's nothing serious. Don't want to see another talent wasted by health issues.

Espargaro's reminiscing about past KTM experiences... feels like a desperate attempt to hype things up.

Bastianini better bring something special. Not very impressed with his performance as a Ducati rider.
