Soldiers charged in an alleged terrorist conspiracy were under restrictions limiting access to army bases and equipment; their weapons did not originate from the Canadian military. Experts identified some seized night-vision devices as American military-grade equipment, typically not sold to individuals.
Four Quebec City-area men, including serving soldiers, were arrested for an alleged terrorism-participation conspiracy. They allegedly stockpiled firearms, ammunition, and explosives, violating multiple laws. Police executed search warrants in January 2024.
The Crown will present evidence at an upcoming bail hearing. Two accused were active military members. The DND confirmed they had restricted base access.
Corporal Matthew Forbes, charged with weapons offenses, was granted bail with conditions. His next court date is September 12.
The other three, facing terrorism charges, will have a bail hearing in July. The Crown will oppose their release.
The RCMP stated the three were allegedly involved in taking possession of land and creating an anti-government militia, participating in military-style training.

The government needs to take care of these issues. It is good they can be reported in the news.

Hopefully they will all get the maximum possible jail time for their terrorism conspiracy.

This all seems a bit fishy. Where's the evidence? Sounds like a witch hunt.

I want clear evidence, not just the rhetoric used to fear-monger. I will wait for the full story.

Thank goodness these individuals didn't have access to Canadian military weapons. Points to the thorough investigation.
