Kindergarten Investigation in Gansu Province Follows Reports of Elevated Blood Lead Levels

In a separate incident, authorities in Northwest China's Gansu Province are investigating a kindergarten. The investigation was launched after reports surfaced of abnormal blood lead levels in some children. These reports alleged the illegal use of additives at the kindergarten.

The local market supervision bureau and public security bureau received public reports on Tuesday. These reports prompted an investigation into the kindergarten in Maiji district, Tianshui, Gansu. A working group, comprised of various departments and experts, has been established to address the situation.

The affected children are currently receiving medical treatment, nutritional intervention, and psychological counseling. The person in charge of the kindergarten is under investigation, and supervisory departments will be held accountable. Further investigations are ongoing.
