China’s J-10CE Warplane Achieves First Combat Success, Experts Highlight Its Advanced Capabilities

The J-10CE, a Chinese warplane designed for export, recently made headlines by successfully engaging in combat operations where it took down multiple enemy aircraft while facing no losses of its own. This achievement, reported by China Central Television (CCTV) News, raises intriguing questions about the advantages of the J-10CE over other similar models available globally.

Military analyst Zhang Xuefeng provided insights into the capabilities of the J-10CE, describing it as a multirole fighter jet that operates effectively in all weather conditions. Notably, this aircraft is a single-engine, single-seat jet that boasts integrated combat systems, allowing it to engage multiple targets at beyond-visual-range distances while also executing precision strikes on the ground amidst challenging electromagnetic environments.

The J-10CE is praised for its agility at medium and low altitudes, capability for supersonic flight, and ability for short takeoffs and landings. In addition, it features an extended combat radius through aerial refueling, which enhances its operational endurance. The jet's advanced avionics and weapon systems further enhance its combat capabilities, making it particularly appealing compared to other international jets.

Zhang highlighted that the J-10 series is built upon a solid design, featuring a canard aerodynamic configuration that improves maneuverability. The J-10CE has been upgraded with several enhancements, including significant efforts to lower its radar cross-section. These improvements include a special coating on the canopy, the use of diverterless supersonic inlets, and an inclined radar antenna, all contributing to a notable reduction in radar visibility.

Moreover, the J-10CE is equipped with an advanced avionics system, including an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, which has seen upgrades in detection capabilities and anti-jamming functions. This sophisticated technology enables the aircraft to acquire and engage targets beyond visual range effectively, thus ensuring it can detect and strike first in combat scenarios.
