Israel is planning to dispatch a delegation to Qatar to engage in discussions with Hamas regarding a potential ceasefire and the release of hostages. This information was reported on Saturday by Israel's state-owned Kan TV. The delegation is anticipated to depart for Qatar on Sunday.
On Friday, Hamas issued a statement indicating a "positive" response to mediators concerning a proposed ceasefire in Gaza. The group also expressed its readiness to promptly begin negotiations on the implementation of the framework.
Citing Israeli sources, Kan TV reported that Israel views Hamas's response as a basis for further discussion. Channel 12 News also confirmed the planned delegation's travel to Qatar. A senior Israeli official, quoted by the channel, expressed optimism about reaching an agreement, emphasizing the importance of seizing the opportunity.
The official also acknowledged the existence of substantial differences and highlighted the need to manage public expectations, given the strong desire for an immediate resolution. The proposed agreement under consideration includes a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza.

A 60-day ceasefire? This will just give Hamas time to regroup and rearm.
