Driving along the winding coastal roads, with cliffs overlooking golden sands, I began to consider the famous faces I might encounter. Jason Statham, Chris Martin, and Cate Blanchett are among the celebrities who own property in the Cornish village of Mawgan Porth. One might expect a place filled with glamour given such a guest list, but that's not the case.
Upon arriving, we parked in the only public car park, situated directly on the beachfront. Payment was collected by an elderly couple, a refreshing change from parking meters. The main road, which runs parallel to the beach, is essentially the village's single street, lined with approximately eight shops.
what is it about this small village that attracts so many high-profile celebrities? Local conversations revealed the presence of famous residents. A café worker mentioned serving Olly Murs, Cate Blanchett, and Gordon Ramsay. One local noted the increasing affluence, with more luxury cars. I shared the same curiosity. Chris Martin, Jamie Dornan, and Gary Barlow are also rumored to have homes here, tucked away in the cliffs.
what do they do all day?

It feels like the presence of these celebs diminishes the local culture and community spirit.

I think it’s wonderful to see a mix of high-profile and everyday life in a village setting!

It’s nice to know that celebrities enjoy the same relaxing environment we do!

Why give thought to what celebrities do all day? It shouldn’t matter in our travels.

This makes me want to visit even more! If it’s good enough for Cate Blanchett, it’s good enough for me!

All this hype about who lives there is irrelevant. Do we ever consider the people who’ve lived there for generations?

This just adds more character to Mawgan Porth! I love that it attracts such diverse crowd!

A mix of nature and celebrity? Count me in! I’d love to see how the locals interact with them.

It’s sad to see small villages becoming hotspots for wealthy elitists. What about local residents?
