Britain announced on Thursday that Paris would become the new headquarters for the international coalition supporting Ukraine, should a ceasefire occur. Plans are also in development for a future coordination cell to be located in Kyiv.
This announcement followed a three-day state visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Britain. The British government stated that preparations for a ceasefire in Ukraine should proceed continuously, ensuring a force could be deployed quickly after hostilities cease.
During the visit, the leaders of Britain and France engaged in virtual discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, along with other international figures and US representatives. Participants included Special Presidential Envoy General Keith Kellogg, Senator Lindsey Graham, and Senator Richard Blumenthal.
The discussions resulted in an agreement that the headquarters would be established in Paris, under the joint leadership of Britain and France. This headquarters will be responsible for managing all tactical and operational aspects of the coalition. After the initial twelve months, the headquarters will relocate to London.

Is this just a way for Macron to solidify his influence while the UK is still trying to figure out its role post-Brexit?
