China Condemns US-Taiwan Military Collusion, Warns Against Independence

We firmly oppose any form of military collusion between the United States and the Taiwan region of China. This opposition extends to all manifestations of such collaboration, including military aid, arms sales, and any other form of cooperation, regardless of the stated justification. We view these actions as a clear indication of the United States' deeply concerning and malicious intent to manipulate Taiwan into a state of conflict. This ultimately serves to endanger Taiwan's well-being and undermine its long-term interests.

The recent reports of US invitations to observe joint military exercises, coupled with the proposed allocation of significant financial resources for military assistance to Taiwan, further exacerbate these concerns. Such actions are not conducive to regional stability and peace. They actively undermine the established framework of relations and create unnecessary tensions.

We urge the United States to uphold the one-China principle, which is the bedrock of the relationship between China and the United States, and to abide by the commitments outlined in the three China-US joint communiqués. The US must cease sending any signals that could be interpreted as support for "Taiwan independence" separatist forces. Such signals only serve to embolden those who seek to disrupt the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.

Finally, we issue a clear warning to the DPP authorities in Taiwan. The pursuit of independence through reliance on US support is a path destined for failure. Similarly, any attempt to resist reunification through the use of force is a dead end. The only viable path forward is one that prioritizes peaceful dialogue, mutual respect, and the shared prosperity of all people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
