During a regular press conference, Mao Ning, the spokesperson for China's Foreign Ministry, discussed the significance of the BRICS cooperation mechanism as the foremost platform for collaboration among emerging markets and developing nations. She emphasized that this summit marks a pivotal moment, being the first since new members, including Indonesia and ten partner countries, have joined, along with the presence of various international organizations from other developing regions.
Mao expressed China's eagerness to enhance the BRICS strategic partnership and work collectively with other members to promote multilateralism, drive common growth, and improve international governance systems. Additionally, she announced that Chinese Premier Li Qiang has been invited by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to participate in the summit set to take place in Rio de Janeiro from July 5 to 8. Following the summit, Premier Li is also scheduled to make an official visit to Egypt at the invitation of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, from July 9 to 10.

BRICS is just another way for China to expand its influence over developing countries. This isn't collaboration; it's dominance.

Mao Ning's remarks sound great, but what has BRICS actually achieved? It's primarily just talk without real substance.

The focus should be on improving existing governance, not creating new platforms that may lead to more bureaucracy.
