Jannik Sinner, currently holding a top ranking, was forced to cancel his practice session at Wimbledon on Tuesday. This decision came after he experienced a right elbow injury during his fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov the previous night.
Sinner had progressed to the quarterfinals when Dimitrov was unable to continue due to a pectoral injury. His next match is scheduled against Ben Shelton, who holds the No. 10 ranking, on Wednesday.
The practice session, which was to take place at Wimbledon's Aorangi Park at 4 p.m. local time, was officially called off by the All England Club.
The injury occurred when Sinner fell in the initial game of his match on Monday evening. He subsequently lost the first two sets before Dimitrov's retirement in the third set, with the score tied at 2-all.
Following the match, the 23-year-old Italian player indicated his intention to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. This examination was planned to assess the severity of the elbow injury.

That's rough. Hope the injury isn't serious and he recovers quickly.

Shelton must be relieved now, being able to advance to the semis. Unfair.

Elbow injury from a fall? Sounds like a fluke accident that's gonna affect the quarterfinal. Unlucky for him.

This is frustrating for the fans and for the tournament. He should've had it checked out before to prevent all of this.
