On Tuesday, the Wales team bus was involved in a road traffic accident. The incident led to the cancellation of their scheduled training session at the stadium where they are set to play France in the Women’s European Championship.
The Welsh Football Association released a statement confirming that everyone involved in the accident, including the players and staff on the bus, as well as those in the other vehicle, were unharmed. The accident occurred while the team was traveling to the stadium in St. Gallen.
Wales coach Rhian Wilkinson, a celebrated figure in Canadian soccer with a distinguished playing career, traveled to the stadium separately for a press conference. She spoke about the incident, expressing that the well-being of the team was the primary concern.
The Football Association of Wales emphasized that their immediate focus was to ensure the players' safety and return them to their training base to continue preparations for the upcoming match. Wales is set to face France in their second Group D game of Euro 2025.
