The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was honored with three prominent awards at the GovMedia Awards 2025 ceremony in Singapore. The awards recognized the GCAA's strategic initiatives in the areas of aviation cybersecurity, public awareness, and leadership development.
The GCAA received the "Cybersecurity Initiative of the Year - Aviation" award for its Civil Aviation Cybersecurity Enhancement Initiative. This initiative was created to address the increasing global cyber threats. It established a comprehensive national framework, which included a national cybersecurity strategy, specialized committees, policies, technical guidelines, and a digital platform for the aviation community. Within its first year, the initiative saw a 30 percent reduction in cyberattack attempts and a 50 percent improvement in response time.
The GCAA also won the "Campaign of the Year - Aviation" award for its nationwide awareness campaign, "Love Your Sky." This campaign effectively communicated aviation messages to a diverse public through creative and engaging methods. The campaign utilized digital content, visual storytelling, and educational experiences, involving over 36 strategic partners from both government and private sectors. It garnered thousands of participants and interactions, significantly increasing public awareness of aviation safety and security.
Finally, the GCAA was recognized in the "Training Program of the Year - Aviation" category for its Leadership Development Program. This program is designed to cultivate a new generation of qualified leaders within the authority. The program focuses on strategic thinking, crisis management, and decision-making skills, utilizing interactive workshops and real-world case studies. These achievements highlight the GCAA's commitment to investing in national talent and its leadership in advancing the aviation sector, solidifying the UAE's position as a global hub for innovation in civil aviation.
