In a thrilling final held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, Mexico emerged victorious over the United States with a score of 2-1, successfully defending their CONCACAF Gold Cup title. The match was filled with excitement and drama from the opening whistle to the final moments.

The United States took an early lead just four minutes into the game. Sebastian Berhalter's free-kick found Chris Richards, whose header hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced down, resulting in a confirmed goal.
